Rat City Roller Girls
June 5th, 2008
One of the unique ways that attorney Lafcadio Darling engages with the Seattle community is by acting as corporate counsel for the Rat City Rollergirls, a local female roller derby league. Started by three Seattle area women in 2004, RCRG was among the first of a wave of flat-track roller derby leagues that are sweeping across the country. RCRG is one of the most popular leagues, regularly playing in front of sold-out crowds and winning national titles. RCRG is not just an entertaining spectator sport, but also is an active group of diverse citizens involved in many community and charitable activities around the Puget Sound.
Lafcadio has acted as a legal adviser to RCRG since its creation and has counseled the league on a variety of issues, including intellectual property, contracts, unfair competition and tort liability. “I enjoy being able to use my legal skills to help out a great group of people in a fun and unique way.” says Lafcadio.
Lafcadion Darling is a litigation attorney with the Mikkelborg firm, with an emphasis on commerical, antitrust and maritime disputes. He has represented clients in commercial disputes, unfair competition claims, construction defect, insurance litigation and large public liability cases.
